DEVELOPMENT
I decided to use my drawing skill as traditional media for this project. I tried to inform, educate, and entertain the audience with traditional media. Traditional drawing media swatch book has information of the materials, and it educates the audience with the information. I chose the Beatles band as a metaphor for drawing materials. The four members are well known, and their face is recognizable. Different types of songs can be used to show different types of drawings. This project can be continued with other musicians’ portraits. First I chose drawing media, such as graphite, charcoal, conte crayon, pastel, colored pencil, pen and ink, and marker. Then, I chose different papers for the media. I divided the papers into two groups. One was white papers, and the other is color papers. While I was drawing the portraits, I was listening specific Beatles songs to be inspired by their song. I used Trajan pro for the Beatles song titles, and used adobe Garamond pro for other information.

RESULT
From the beginning of the project, it was not allowed to use computer at all. There were some difficulties to use actual drawing on the project because of the dry materials. Two weeks later, computer usage was allowed to scan and print the project. I learned the advantage of traditional media. The use of actual materials made the project very successful to show the different textures and characteristics.
